As a one-of-a-kind Marketplace, we are used to getting more media attention and more users on our website. With it comes the inevitable website traffic, which grows by the minute.
However, when we noticed a 102.4% increase in website traffic last week, it was clear - numerous searches were run simultaneously, and potentially - many influencers were about to get hired.
As many of you know, the crisis in Ukraine is still happening. The number of fake news on social media platforms is unmeasurable, and with it, the panic grows among people, especially people who still haven’t left Ukraine. And this is definitely not only limited to that particular geographical area. The whole world is getting affected and experiencing the changes and the paradigm shifts.
Knowing the catastrophic consequences of such a chain of events, the White House decided to go with the most effective measures in today’s digital world - utilizing digital creator platforms like Brybe.com and hiring Social Media Influencers, specifically those, whose rankings are high on TikTok.
On Thursday last week, 30 top-rated TikTok Influencers gathered together on Zoom to receive a detailed brief from theWhite House representatives about the war in Ukraine and its escalating effects on the US and the world economy. The representatives, National Security Council staffers, and WhiteHouse press secretary Jen Psaki, informed the influencers about our strategic goals as a country and answered questions related to sending necessary help to Ukrainian families.
What is Twitter for Millenials that is TikTok for Generation Z. Young people get their information from TikTok. The government saw it as a valuable opportunity to address and inform the younger population about the war and its effects. The influencers weren’t allowed to record the conversation or share any pictures, but they were allowed to share key information with their followers.
In a recording of the call, the intentions of the White House director of digital strategy Rob Flaherty are quite straightforward: “We recognize this is a critically important avenue in the way the American public is finding out about the latest, so we wanted to make sure you had the latest information from an authoritative source.”
Our CEO Igor Fedenkoff also shared his thoughts on the matter: “Although this is a very concerning situation for everyone, I’m glad that the White House utilizes contemporary channels to reach various groups of the US and world population and deliver the information they intend to while employing the creators available on platforms like Brybe Marketplace. I think this year all of us are going to realize the impact of influencers, brand ambassadors, and creators. Even though we mostly see them in promotional campaigns, in moments like these we see their ability to influence other people’s opinions and set the tone for how others should react to anything they see on social media. And of course, their following and the audience are the ultimate judge of the value of the message delivered.”
Brybe Marketplace will continue to set high industry standards that are much needed in a moment of crisis
